The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny was the first co-production between the Carnegie Mellon Schools of Drama and Music in over 20 years. Lavina assisted Valerie Light with the scenic design for the Pittsburgh premier of this opera. She was also created all of the projections for this production, over 50 in total.

As the paint charge, Lavina worked with scenic designer Andrew Birdzell to create a natural and versatile environment for this production. All of the wood surfaces are treated with a series of translucent washes and an acrylic glaze.

COMPOSED, the music and lyrics of Will Reynolds

Released April 2004

Will Reynolds is an up and coming singer/songwriter, who has written several cabaret pieces and a full length musical, Sighs of Fire. Lavina designed the cover art for the album, which has sold several hundred copies. For more information about Will’s music, visit his website.

Lavina completed three years of scenic painting coursework as part of her training at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. Below is a sampling of the non-show related projects she has created.
